The Best Budget Restaurants on Providenciales

BBQ ribs at Chinson's Restaurant on Providenciales
Local BBQ, slaw, and fries.

Turks and Caicos is an expensive destination, especially when it comes to food. Two ways to save money and stick to your budget are to prepare some meals yourself and try one of the less expensive dining establishments.

There are some great inexpensive dining options on Providenciales, both in Grace Bay and elsewhere on the island. Many of these budget restaurants focus on breakfast or lunch. Most offer takeout.

Most restaurants are required by the government to charge a 12% tourism tax and a 10% service charge. However, restaurants that primarily cater to the local market are granted an exemption from charging tax (whether they are serving tourists or not). They typically don't charge the 10% service fee either, saving you additional money on your meal.

Below are some of the top budget restaurants in Turks and Caicos. Costs listed are 2026 prices.

Le Comptoir French deli in Grace Bay
Sandwiches & More

Le Comptoir Français

Le Comptoir Français (also known as Julien's Deli) serves some of the best sandwiches on Providenciales, and at fairly cheap cost. This traditional French deli is located in the Regent Village in central Grace Bay and is within walking distance of many resorts.

There's a great range of meat and veggie options to choose from for their subs and sandwiches. The sandwiches start at $12 without a side, and are a tasty and high-quality choice for a budget lunch. The deli also serves salads, pizzas, and croissants and other pastries.

Caribbean Cuisine

The Patty Place

The Patty Place is located at La Petite Place plaza near Ports of Call. This small shop primarily serves ice cream and dessert, yet an inexpensive light lunch is their meat and vegetarian patties. Patties are a Jamaican pastry that can be either sweet or savory and are similar to a meat pie. A large meat patty with a cold drink costs about $5.

Some of the ice cream at the Patty Place is the famous Jamaican Devon House brand, and there’s typically a nice selection of flavors available. Ice cream portions are often pretty generous.

Graceway Gourmet in Grace Bay
Prepared Foods

Graceway Gourmet

The Graceway Gourmet supermarket is one of the best places to eat for a filling and cheap lunch. It offers a very wide selection of prepared foods, custom sandwiches and wraps, pizza, coffee, pastries, and more. There's also a salad bar. Shaded seating is available outside.

Prices can vary widely—while it’s possible to buy lunch for under $10 per person including drinks, foods that are priced by item and weight (such as salads or hot lunches) can add up fast.

Wings & Fries

Sweet T's

Sweet T’s in the Downtown area of Providenciales has a polarized reputation: people either love it or hate it. This takeout budget restaurant specializes in spicy fried chicken wings and French fries, and sells a variety of soft drinks. Sweet T’s is one of the cheapest dining options on the island, with a serving of wings, fries, and a drink totalling around $6 or $7.

Food at Sweet T’s is ordered in dollar increments. For example, a meal for one could be “$3 chicken, $2 fries, and soda” for a total of $6. Included in the price is the option of having hot sauce or ketchup drizzled on your meal.

Thai Food

Kin Khao

This outdoor Thai-Chinese restaurant on Leeward Highway is a popular spot with locals, as it combines great food and decent-sized portions with reasonable prices. You can buy a filling lunch for under $20 per person, tax included.

Kin Khao is open for lunch and dinner and also offers takeout and catering for large groups. Service tends to be relatively quick. Nice options are the Pad Thai, green or red curry with rice, and the hot and sour soup.
